I haven't really been shopping in forever. Blame it on the recession... smh.
Anyways... It was a retail therapy well needed.

Start Anew

Hi. I'm gonna start afresh. I created a blog knowing full well that my schedule is crazy but I'm gonna try harder this time...
So yesterday being my birthday, I decided to dubb it "the first day of the rest of my life". This is because I'm making changes. One such change is to actually make blog entries and spruce up my blog somewhat. I will be opening up my world, exposing more of what it is that I do. What better time to start than the present, huh?

I celebrated the day of my birth yesterday. I woke up to a quiet but beautifully tranquil day. I had planned the days events in advance but... I changed my mind the minute I finished my daily devotion. The plan was to shower and go have breakfast (packed or take-out) at the waterfront (Kingston Harbour - because it can be sooo quiet if you're early), visit the National Gallery and Liberty Hall...after which i would stop by my friend's workplace, drag him to have lunch with me and chit chat a bit. Then, return home for a little siesta time and dinner @ Isiaa's.  That was what was suppose to have happened? Sounds good right?

However...what actually happened was... I showered. Brewed a cup of tea and flopped down on my couch. "Cabaret" was calling me... I watched that, then there was "rent", followed by "Chicago".... It was a musical marathon of a day!  I had a bite at "gourmet wings" ordered in and red wine (that's what I craved.)
Today was all about what I wanted, which is exactly what I told nana when she called to wish me well on my day.

Isiaa's Restaurant & Bar

Isiaa's was lovely... I felt like I was being specially catered to (the place was near empty; my friend and I were the only two people dining inside...other patrons dined on the balcony, LOL). The food was good, the service was good and the music....oh! Tina Turner, Aretha, the likes. The ambience was di-vine!
I'm so sorry I didn't get the chance to take decent pics to share ( I forgot my cam)...but I did however take pics before I left home so at least you'll see the outfit.  Marvellous (even if early) end to a most wonderful day. HBD to me!

Black Out Friday --Jamaica

We all agree that these are harsh economic times. A time of financial embarrassment, bankruptcy, hiding from debt collectors...etc, etc. yaddi, yaddi, yadda... But is this excuse enough for corporate giants to wear us thin? Take us for every dollar etc.? No!
We each have to "pull our own weight" towards the improvement of our country... right?
There are companies existing in this beautiful land, who are the epitome of the embodiment of monotony and we all know that where there is no competition, the margin of error, vastly increases. By that I mean, there is little motive for improving goods and or services since there is but one supplier.
Case in point, our energy provider, the Jamaica Public Service Company Ltd, which is by the way, owned by Marubeni (not of Jamaica), is majority shareholder with the minuscule share of the company, a meagre 20% belonging to the government- SHAMEFUL!
Anyways, Friday 19/08/2011 was dubbed "J.P.S Black Out Friday". In support of a peaceful demonstartion so dubbed, customers  were urged to wear black in  protest against the high cost required of us on our  electricity bills.
My bestie and I sported outfits below....

I Know My Body

Knowing your body is what is like the foundation of successful style. What some folks don't understand is that....
You can be trendy but not fashionable, fashionable yet not stylish. If you have a sense of fashion... you will agree that body type is fundamental to successful styling. I have an hourglass figure and I rock it. Being stylish is 50% attitude. Exude confidence and people will take note.
My style is infectious....and I'd like to keep it that way. So styling....

So Blue for blues....

I'm now in the place where planning an outfit is beginning to feel overrated and its like... what's up with that!
Grossly overrated. Lately its been pretty much grab and go when dressing these days.
The reason for this is because its so damn hot! I can't tolerate the closeness of jeans, even leggings are a bit much @ times.... SMH. Anywhooo....enough babbling.

Back to Black

One of my favorite hues, sadly, is BLACK. So I am an earthy gal...love my browns, my reds and my greens. For me, the darker, the better. A friend of mine is opposite... If its loud, bright, attention grabbing or border-line garish.... hand it to her. She'll wear it.
I was reminded of just how much I like black... when for the week, I repeatedly reached for dark ensembles to wear to work....SMH. Photo op below....
